Our Ring Slings come in 2 sizes.
- Regular Size measuring approximately 2m from the rings and along the longest rail.
- Long Size measuring approximately 2.2m from the rings and along the longest rail.
Our ring slings are made from all natural fibres and, with few exceptions, are as easy to care for as your regular household laundry. Firstly, you must look over your ring sling before washing for the first time. We ask you to look for any weaving flaws that we may have missed along the way. If you are un-happy with your carrier then please contact us. Your ring sling will arrive to you in what is called “loom state”. Therefore, it is very important that you wash and iron your ring sling before use. This sets the weave, removes any residue and will fluff up your wrap to make it soft and smooshy.
Wash your ring sling first in one cold wash on a medium spin, and on gentle cycle for subsequent washing. We do not recommend the use of colour catchers with any textiles. Tumble dry on low. Ironing is strongly encouraged to prevent premature wear at the rails and other highly creased areas.
It is normal for your ring sling to shrink in the first wash. We have taken into account shrinkage when we have cut and hemmed our wraps. Ring Slings should be covered with a piece of cloth or sock. This not only protects the rings but also your washing machine.

Brother to Cape, Cousin to Bay, Klay is dark and moody. Klay features the same special pocket weave that we have come to know and love with some added heaviness from the dark warp. Both ring sling and wrap arrived to me in loom state and fluffed up nicely after a wash. Klay is still on the thinner side, even with the dark warp, and has a lovely airiness on a hot summer day. The pocket weave gives the illusion of a thicker wrap with the cush it gives but without the bulkiness on the shoulders.
The black warp helps gives more texture and adds some weight to the wrap (I think). In comparison to Ariel Bay, I think Klay may need some breaking in but I had no issues using either wrap or ring sling with my tiny newborn. Please note I only have a very broken in Ariel Bay to compare to.
Ring sling: the ring sling is easy to pull through the rings and easy to use. My shoulder was nicely cushioned thanks to the two layers of wrap, in addition to the pocket weave, that the Ankalia floating gathered shoulder provides. It moulds around your wearee with ease and has a decent amount of stretch to help do this. My husband found it easy to use as a first time ring sling user and comfortably wore our 3.5kg newborn for a lengthy period of time.
Wrap: wrapping with Klay felt like wrapping with pillows. The pocket weave is really great with giving lots of cush on the shoulders. It moulds around wearer and wearee easily, and has enough texture to help lock passes in place. Held up with a sloppy job great with my newborn but it may sag in single layers with heavier children.

Domestic shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on the weight of the product(s). Most products are shipped Express unless stated otherwise.
Delivery time ranges from 3-7 (three to seven) working days from the time of checkout, pending the shipping option selected. Remote locations not serviced by Ankalia Textiles’ primary shipping service may take up to 14 (fourteen) working days.
International shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on your shipping location and weight of the product(s). Express and Standard options for shipping are available for selection.
Delivery time ranges from 5-21 (five to twenty-one) business days after shipping, based on the address given.
International purchases may also be liable for any customs and import duty, quotas, permits, product restrictions and other local requirements. These charges must be paid by the recipient of the parcel.
Ankalia Textiles is not liable for any custom or import duties and will not cover the cost of custom fees or import duties into any country.
A return of order will be accepted either:
- after a product has been shipped, and a cancellation of order was communicated by the consumer to Ankalia Textiles within the same day of purchase; or
- within fourteen (14) days of order when product is unused, undamaged, and in original purchase condition. “Original purchase condition” is defined as unwashed, unless otherwise stated as ‘Ready to wear’ at time of purchase.
