When selecting what size wrap to purchase it is important to consider what type of carry you would like to do, as well as what size you and your baby are. In general your base size is good for a Front Wrap Cross Carry as seen in our My Wrap section. Please read our instructions on how to do a basic carry and safety guidelines before you start wrapping. Here is some information on how to work out your base size. HERE

Our woven wraps are made from all natural fibres and, with few exceptions, are as easy to care for as your regular household laundry. Firstly, you must look over your woven before washing for the first time. We ask you to look for any weaving flaws that we may have missed along the way. If you are un-happy with your carrier then please contact us. Your woven wrap will arrive to you in what is called “loom state”. Therefore, it is very important that you wash and iron your ring sling before use. This sets the weave, removes any residue and will fluff up your wrap to make it soft and smooshy.

Wash your woven wrap first in one cold wash on a medium spin, and on gentle cycle for subsequent washing. We do not recommend the use of colour catchers with any textiles. Tumble dry on low. Ironing is strongly encouraged to prevent premature wear at the rails and other highly creased areas.

It is normal for your woven wrap to shrink in the first wash. We have taken into account shrinkage when we have cut and hemmed our wraps.

Ankalia Matrix Architect Wearee: Tim, 20 months, 10.5kg Composition: 100% Cotton Colours: Charcoal, Dark Blue This wrap is unbelievably soft! It’s about as thin as Shoalhaven Vermillion, so I’d recommend it for babies from newborn to 12 months in a single layer carry, older babies in a multi-layer carry. It glides nicely, and holds for long enough for Tim to go to sleep in it! It does dig a bit due to the thin wrap and Tim’s weight. The colours are muted, which I quite like. Understated style will never go out of fashion.

Size 6 Matrix was soft and smoochy even in loom state, after a wash and dry in the dryer it become even more soft and smoochy. At first wrap, it molded perfectly around my 3 month old and glided into place. I found I needed to tighten well because if there was slack left, it created a loose wrap job. If well tightened, it was comfortable, moldable and not overly hot. I found there wasn’t as much cush as it’s brother 24K, this is probably due to the fact that this Matrix is 100% cotton. I also found that the weave was pull prone, much like 24K, and was easy to catch on nails and rings. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to try it with my 3.5yr old but I get the feeling that Matrix wouldn’t work for big kids. It would work best for babies and small toddlers and multiple layers are best for heavier kiddos.
