Ankalia Textiles General Terms and Conditions
Please ensure you read the below Terms and Conditions in full, before entering into any purchase with Ankalia Textiles.
Ankalia Textiles may, from time to time, amend the Terms and Conditions below, without notice to you. Any amendments will be updated and accessible on this page.
Australian Consumer Law
Ankalia Textiles is an Australian owned and run business, and complies with Australian Consumer Law. The Terms and Conditions below are in compliance with this law.
Ankalia Textiles provides a consumer guarantee that ensures your purchased product is:
- Long lasting;
- Is of acceptable quality; and
- Performs the way it is expected to.
Exceptions to consumer guarantee
The consumer guarantee does not apply in the following circumstances:
Change of mind
Ankalia Textiles will not make any changes to orders due to change of mind.
Misuse of product
Ankalia Textiles is not responsible for any misuse of any product that causes a problem.
Ankalia Textiles are not responsible for products not bought directly from Ankalia Textiles or their approved retailers.
Ankalia Textiles is not responsible for known faults that are advertised as ‘Seconds Quality’ items.
Cancellation or return of order
Ankalia Textiles will provide a partial refund less 18% of the original purchase price excluding postage, upon receipt of cancellation or return of order, in the following circumstances:
Cancellation of order
Any cancellation of order should be communicated by the consumer to Ankalia Textiles within the same day of purchase.
Return of order
A return of order will be accepted either:
- after a product has been shipped, and a cancellation of order was communicated by the consumer to Ankalia Textiles within the same day of purchase; or
- within fourteen (14) days of order when product is unused, undamaged, and in original purchase condition. “Original purchase condition” is defined as unwashed, unless otherwise stated as ‘Ready to wear’ at time of purchase.
Repairs, replacements, and refunds
Ankalia Textiles will provide a repair, replacement, or refund, in the following circumstances listed below. Please note Ankalia Textiles will take into consideration the time that has passed since the product was bought, when addressing a request for refund, repair, or replacement.
Ankalia Textiles will offer to repair a product where it is found to have a minor fault.
A “minor” fault is defined as an issue that does not affect the safety or integrity of the product.
Replacement or refund
Ankalia Textiles will offer an identical type replacement (where possible), or a refund where a product is found to have a major fault. The identical type may vary in design or colourway.
A “major” fault is defined as an issue that affects the safety or integrity of the product, or where it is significantly different from the description on the website.
A “signficant difference” does not include the following:
- Colour variations;
- Uneven stitching;
- Pattern placement;
- Loose threads; and
- Tiny nubs, slubs, weaver’s knots, or skipped threads.

Returning a product for repair, replacement, or refund
It is the responsibility of the consumer to return a product to Ankalia Textiles for repair, replacement or refund.
Minor fault products will be returned to the consumer at their expense. Major fault products will be returned to the consumer at Ankalia Textiles’ expense.

Alterations to product
Any item that has been altered in any way will be regarded as a misuse of product and will therefore be excluded from the Consumer Guarantee.
The term “altered” is defined as including, without limit: dyeing, fabric additions, or removals made after purchase.
Ankalia Textile’s Manufacturer’s Warranty is given to the following products in addition to the Consumer Guarantee, and does not exclude it.
Ankalia Up buckle baby carrier
Ankalia Textiles provides a 12 (twelve) month manufacturer’s warranty from the date of purchase for fixtures and buckles.
Ankalia Textiles provides a 6 (six) month manufacturer’s warranty from the date of purchase for all hardware on their Todo, Mios, and Volos accessories.
Process to claim
If any of the above is found to be defective within the specified timeframe, Ankalia Textiles will either:
- Repair or replace the product where possible; or
- Provide a partial refund.

Shipping and Customs
Ankalia Textiles ships products domestically and internationally, either standard or express. Ankalia Textiles will only ship to the address that is provided on the consumer order.
If a mistake is made at checkout, or the address on the account is incorrect, Ankalia Textiles is not responsible for additional postage costs and processing fees to return the product to the business or the consumer.
Ankalia Textiles will not pay for damages or losses that occur after the goods have left their control.
Domestic shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on the weight of the product(s). Express and Standard options for shipping are available for selection.
Delivery time ranges from 3-7 (three to seven) working days from the time of checkout, pending the shipping option selected. Remote locations not serviced by Ankalia Textiles’ primary shipping service may take up to 14 (fourteen) working days.
International shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on your shipping location and weight of the product(s). Express and Standard options for shipping are available for selection.
Delivery time ranges from 5-21 (five to twenty-one) business days after shipping, based on the address given.
International purchases may also be liable for any customs and import duty, quotas, permits, product restrictions and other local requirements. These charges must be paid by the recipient of the parcel.
Ankalia Textiles is not liable for any custom or import duties and will not cover the cost of custom fees or import duties into any country.
The following Terms and Conditions apply generally to lay-bys with Ankalia Textiles. Lay-by terms may be varied for specific promotions.
- A 20% non-refundable deposit is required for products being placed on lay-by;
- Lay-bys are available for up to 8 weeks with regular fortnightly payments of 20%;
- Shipping options are selected at the finalisation of a lay-by; and
- Lay-by contents cannot be modified.
Lay-bys may be cancelled by the consumer at any time during the term. Please note the following conditions:
- Consumers who cancel a lay-by will receive a refund of the total amount of monies paid less a termination fee of 20%;
- Refunds for lay-by payments will be made using the original payment method only;
- Failure to make payments when they are due will be treated as cancellation of the lay-by;
- Ankalia Textiles is not required to contact you before cancelling a lay-by for non-payment or non-collection; and
- Ankalia Textiles will not reinstate a cancelled lay-by.
Sale and discounted products
Ankalia Textiles will at their discretion, from time to time, place products on sale or provide discounts on products.
All sale or discounted products are bound by the Consumer Guarantee in this Terms and Conditions document, except where an Exception to the Consumer Guarantee applies.
Refusal of sale
Without being liable for any damage or costs, Ankalia Textiles reserve the following rights to refuse a sale:
- To refuse any order for whatever reason
- To cancel an order already accepted in (amongst others) the following situations:
a) The product is not available/in stock;
b) Your billing information is not correct or not verifiable;
c) Your order is flagged up by our security systems as an unusual order or an order susceptible to fraud;
d) Ankalia Textiles have reason to believe that you are a reseller;
e) There was an error in the price quoted;
f) Ankalia Textiles could not deliver to the address provided by you; or
g) for any other reason.
Ankalia Textiles may also refuse purchases where the consumer has engaged in behaviour that has caused administrative, financial, or personal disruption to the company outside of expected activity.
“Administrative, financial, or personal disruption” includes attempting to purchase items on behalf of a person who has been refused purchase.
Ankalia Textiles reserves the right to add special Terms and Conditions to any promotion, at any time, at their discretion.
Ankalia Textiles respects your right to control how information held on your behalf is used, and are fully committed to protecting everyone’s right to privacy.
Collection of personal information
Ankalia Textiles will only collect personal information that is necessary for one or more of its activities and only by lawful and fair means. It will only collect information about an individual from that individual.
Information collected is:
- Contact details; and
- Credit card details or PayPal details.
Credit card details are not retained in Ankalia Textiles system.
Use and disclosure
Ankalia Textiles will not use or disclose personal information about you for a purpose other than the primary purpose of collection.
You have the right to access/change/delete the personal information held. Please contact Ankalia Textiles to update details or to unsubscribe from any future contact.
Data use and security
Ankalia Textiles will take reasonable steps to protect the personal information it holds from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
All images and website content are copyright of Ankalia Textiles. All Ankalia Textiles images, carriers, woven wraps, ring slings and accessories are not to be used in any promotional or marketing material for business purposes, unless credit is given and it is clearly stated that the products that are being used were purchased from Ankalia Textiles.
